What's Your Excuse?


As a personal trainer I hear far too often that people don’t have time to workout.  I hear the excuse they are too busy with work, family, kids, social life, they don’t feel well that day or have a sore back or some other injury.  Trust me, I understand and sympathize with the excuses, but you know who doesn’t?  Your body, it doesn't hear or care what your excuses are.  Your body doesn’t understand why you don’t take care of it and it’s not going to wait for you to make time.  If you don’t treat it well, you are not going to look and feel well.  If you feed your body crap you are simply going to look and feel like crap.  It’s that simple.  

I’m sure you’ve read this before, “Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the
intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well
preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways,
chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body
thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming
“WOO HOO what a ride!”  

I couldn’t disagree with this quote more. I don’t want a worn out, non-functioning tired body.  I want a healthy one and what comes with a healthy body but a healthy mind and soul.  I want to enjoy life and the journey it brings, but I also think that to get the most out of life you have to feel good enough to go out and experience it.  

So suck it up and get to work after all an hour workout is only 4% of your entire day... What's your excuse?
